Convene
The Consortium convenes regular meetings (in-person and/or virtual) to review and discuss
current decarbonization topics of interest. A typical meeting includes one or more expert
presentations, followed by lively discussions among the participants on how to apply the
information presented to their own campuses.
Connect
The Consortium maintains CCD Connect: a members-only discussion forum designed to help
campus energy personnel seek guidance from each other on key issues and potentially
collaborate to solve mutual problems.
Educate
CCD also maintains a robust, curated online collection of training materials, publications,
webinars, videos and other educational resources relevant to the decarbonization of college and
university campuses.
The benefits of decarbonization extend far beyond reducing carbon emissions. By embracing sustainable practices, educational institutions can enhance their reputation by creating an environment for sustainability science, attract environmentally conscious students and faculty, and contribute to a more sustainable future. The Campus Consortium for Decarbonization offers a platform for higher education institutions in New Jersey to accelerate meaningful change in the fight against climate change.
